Qualifying dates set by Cullman GOP

CULLMAN - The Cullman County Republican Party has announced qualifying dates for the 2018 Republican primary election. Those interested in running for public office may qualify from Jan. 8, 2018 to Feb. 9, 2018.

Local GOP Chairman Waid Harbison said that if candidates do not qualify with the Republican Party during the specified timeframe, they will not be able to run for office on the Republican Party ballot during the 2018 election cycle.

The primary election will be held on June 5, 2018 with run-off elections on July 17, 2018, if needed.

Candidates qualifying for local office will be required to pay a fee equal to two percent of the salary of the post for which they are running. If candidates or campaigns do not have adequate funding for the qualifying fee, the party may waive the fee if needed.
