Cullman youth bring home awards from Alabama National Fair Livestock Show

Evan Roden of Cullman exhibited the Supreme Grand Champion Market Lamb at the Alabama National Fair Oct. 7. His lamb was also Champion Heavyweight Market Lamb. He is shown with his father, Rusty, and Youth Sheep Show judge Mitchell Hankins of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Roden also earned prizes for showing the Supreme Reserve Grand Champion Ewe, Grand Champion Commercial Ewe and Grand Champion Dorset Advantage Ewe.

MONTGOMERY - The Alabama Farmers Federation and Alfa Insurance sponsored various livestock events during the Alabama National Fair Sept. 28-Oct. 8 at Garrett Coliseum. Those events included beef cattle, goats, sheep, swine and dairy cattle.

  • Etta Hudson of Logan exhibited the Champion Lightweight Market Lamb at the Alabama National Fair Oct. 7. The Youth Sheep Show judge was Mitchell Hankins of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas.
  • Intermediate Premier Exhibitor winners in the Youth Sheep Show at the Alabama National Fair Oct. 7 were from left, Maddie Alldredge of Blountsville in Blount County, first; Connell Cornelius of Rogersville in Lauderdale County, second; Nicole Williamson of Heflin in Cleburne County, third; Russell Jordan of Talladega in Talladega County, fourth; and Olivia Roberts of Vinemont in Cullman County, fifth.
