CULLMAN – The 32nd annual Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas Show Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show took place Saturday at Depot Park in Cullman. Due to unseasonably chilly weather, there were no motorcycle this year, but the day was beautiful, and the show went on, raising money for Christmas Love and featuring classic cars and trucks.

The show was started more than 30 years ago by Larry Harris and Burl Smith, and it is now hosted each year in their memory.

Money raised from the show goes to Christmas Love, a local organization that sponsors children for the holidays, providing toys and necessities for the families.  Saturday’s participants who showed off their cars and trucks either paid $20 or donated a toy valued at $20 to enter. There was also an auction of items donated by local businesses.

One of the event organizers, Edith Smith, smiled, “The community helps us out a lot.”

Around 40 vehicles entered the show, and all entrants received a dash plaque. Among them were flashy sports cars ranging from a Chevrolet Corvette, Camaros, Ford Mustangs, Dodge Chargers and many other cars and trucks. A van selling classic Hot Wheels was at the show, with some of the Hot Wheels given as prizes in a small music trivia contest.

In a note posted to the event’s Facebook page, organizers shared, “Thank you all that came out in the cold today to support Christmas Love at the Ho Ho Ho Christmas Show. We raised close to $4,500. Pictures and a final total to come in the next week.”
