Thereâs an extremely antiquated mindset of masculinity that was passed down by our fathers, grandfathers–including our matriarchal figures that have embraced that men have to choose what type of life to live. Men must dominate professionally where money and status often carry more importance over family, spirituality and friendships. Those choices bleed over into improperly based domineering personality traits that further damage what should be the keys to life that ground us.
In my previous articles, Iâve touched on the warriorâs mindset (warriors code)–the things that keep men. Without lifeâs balance and the basics of what men are called to do, that work can and will become futile.
âCover me with your love and compassion so that I may walk in your ways. Heavenly Father, remove my heart of stone and give me a new heart and a new spirit.â (Ezekiel 36:26).
My encouragement to both men and women is to live with purpose and passion. Donât ignore what lights your fire. We are oftentimes fooled by the false narratives that passions are luxuries, rather than the lifeâs blood that energizes us. Without purpose and passion, boredom becomes pain. Witnessing despair at best can lead to poor self-esteem and lack of confidence.
The things of the world can become strangely dim when they are not guided by purpose. A college degree, 401k and PTO are all wonderful things, but WHAT drives your passions?
Donât allow yourself to look back on life and miss out on what fuels you, because eventuallyâ punching a time clock can be numbing and mundaneâ but following your calling for your life will ignite your purpose.
Refuse a common life.
