DODGE CITY, Ala. – A body was found inside a truck parked behind the Jack’s restaurant in Dodge City early Saturday morning. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick said he was notified at approximately 6:54 a.m. Kilpatrick has identified the deceased as Matthew Clayton Glenn Martin, 27, of Owens Cross Roads.

“The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology, but it appears to be an overdose,” said Kilpatrick. “There was paraphernalia found. A used syringe was found in his lap.”

The Tribune has been made aware that there are videos of the scene circulating on social media, and Kilpatrick urged those sharing them: “Please have some respect for the decedent and his family.”

Kilpatrick said this makes five suspected drug overdoses this year. All are still pending toxicology analysis.
