COA urges retirees, seniors to ‘Treasure Your Health’ on Sept. 7

ULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Commission on Aging (COA) is urging retirees and seniors to “Treasure Your Health” at its high seas-themed Cullman Retiree and Senior Health Fair. The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Donald E. Green Active Adult Center and will be packed with senior-centered health resources, a full schedule of guest speakers, door prizes, and rumor has it, a few pirates will be making an appearance! 

In addition to all the fun, the health fair will provide on-site health screenings, and flu shots will be available.  

Guest speakers include Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry, Karen Reeves of the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama, Bill Hawkins of American Association of Retired Persons Advocacy Outreach, Nicholas Vonderau of the Alabama Securities Commission, Cullman Police Sgt. Adam Clark and a special guest speaker from Premier Bank of the South.  

The fair is open to any area retirees or seniors aged 50 or older. The Active Adult Center is located at 1625 Cleveland Ave. SW. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., the speaker panel begins at 9 and vendor visits begin at 10. Lunch will be provided.
