CULLMAN – The Healthcare Authority of Cullman County is pleased to welcome James Clements to Cullman Regional Medical Center as Interim Chief Executive Officer.  This appointment comes after the board and former CEO Jim Weidner were unable to come to terms regarding a contract renewal in April. CRMC’s Vice President of Patient Care Services Cheryl Bailey, RN, BSN, MBA has been serving as Interim CEO since the announcement by the board.

“The board appreciates Cheryl’s willingness to serve in the dual role of both Chief Nursing Office and Interim CEO over the past few months,” CRMC Board Chair Todd McLeroy said. “However, we realize each role requires a lot of time and effort and want Cheryl to be able to maintain focus on the critical aspects of patient care.”

Clements is a healthcare executive with more than 25 years of healthcare operations experience as a Chief Executive Office, Chief Financial Officer and as a Chief Operations Officer for acute-care hospitals with 60-500 beds.

Most recently, Clements served as the Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Partnership for Wellstar Health System in Marietta, Georgia and CEO at South Fulton Medical Center, a Tenet Healthcare Corporation hospital in Atlanta, Georgia where he had served since 2004.

Clements holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.

“The board is pleased to have someone of Mr. Clements experience to lead the organization during this transition period at CRMC,” McLeroy said.
