CULLMAN, Ala. – Good news for area seniors! Cullman County Commission on Aging Director Stephanie Lawson confirmed Tuesday afternoon that all senior centers will resume normal operations on June 1. As of right now, Lawson said that they are under no restrictions or mask requirements when they do reopen.

To celebrate the re-openings, the COA has been coordinating with Cullman Sheriff Matt Gentry and the CCSO to have cookouts at each center during the coming month to celebrate. Lawson said, “We are so excited and Laurie Knight, our nutrition coordinator, has been working very hard to set it up.”

The first cookout date will be Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Cullman Senior Center with the CCSO serving lunch at 11 a.m. Knight added, “I will be setting up cookout dates at each senior center for the next month or so.”
